Snow Day!

I hope everyone is staying warm today! I managed to get out of work today, so I decided to put some long needed love and work onto my Hammerhead! I'm quickly finding out that orange over a large area is a pain in the butt to paint! You can see how I'm watering down the paint to help smooth the process but still, I'm glad my whole army is not primarily orange!

Necron Scarabs: little Nightmares

Tired of landraiders and other high armor value units mowing down your troops. Try using Scarabs to annoy your opponent by running a swarm of 10 scarab bases into his tank. Everybody just loves it when your inexpensive little scarabs unit eats a really big and expensive tank.  In my opinion Scarabs can be one of the most fun units to play in your army they are quick and extremely affective if you put some tasty tanks in their path to eat. Very easy to paint as well I was able to finish these in less than a hour.

Flying Friday: Storm Talon Gunship

We are changing Fridays to Flyer Fridays because air support has become a huge part of warhammer tactics in 6th edition. Therefore they deserve their own spot on our blog. So on Fridays we are going to talk about anything that flies for example: flying monstrous creatures, fast skimmers, Chariots, or flyers. I have recently purchased a storm talon. Storm Talons are flyers for the space marine army and I have mine painted up for Black Templars. I am going to run it most of the time with twin linked lascanon and twin linked assault cannon. Storm Talons are great because they can contest objectives in a hurry due to their 36" movement. Storm Talons are not to be taken lightly and the only effective way to take them down is other flyers if you can get the drop on them and weapons that have the skyfire special rule.

Chaos Daemons: Bloodcrushers

Bloodcrushers are one of the best cavalry units in the game of Warhammer. These heavily armored steads are very durable and can withstand attacks from powerful monstrous creatures. They have bloodletters riding on their backs which makes them look even better. This is one of my favorite Chaos units and I use them in almost every game.

Stormtrooper's Workshop: Cadian Beastmen Allies

So here's a sneak peek at what Stormtrooper has been up to lately. Yes, they look awesome.

He plans to use a little bit of Imperial Guard as an ally for his Space Wolves. I can't wait to see these guys painted!

Mrs. Stormtrooper's Workshop: High Elf Dragon

Well Dragonauthor should be happy, his dragon got painted this weekend. This is how it turned out.

Also, if you did not notice the title, Stormtrooper's wife painted this for him. Yep, she's awesome.

Stormtrooper's workshop

So stromtrooper tried his hand at making some combi-weapons as by the tutorial from Ron at From the Warp. Looks pretty good in my opinion. He also molded some fur on his shoulder. I think FTW did something on that too.

Is there such a thing as to much Warhammer?

NO! There is no such thing as to much warhammer. Warhammer is the only game that I have ever played that I have not gotten sick of in two to three weeks. (Except for Mass Effect 3 but im sure I will get sick of that eventually.....I think) Here is a picture of my work station. There is about over 250 warhammer models on the table  I have more waiting to be built but because of the holiday I have been putting in extra hours at work so haven't had time to put them together. At times I feel a little overwhelmed at the amount of work I have left, but I do this because I enjoy it not because I have to in order to play with Igloo or Dragonauthor. Screw those guys my models are my real friends. Im Just messing I am not some pathetic weirdo who sleeps with his models at night (They are in the same room that I sleep in but minor detail). Im sure Stormtrooper can relate im pretty sure he has more Warhammer projects then me and all of them look epic. Hopefully in the future he can get some pics of them on the blog. Overall if you are creative, have a good imagination, like working with your hands, and hanging out with friends I don't think you could possibly get tired of Warhammer.  WAAAAAAGH! Blood For The BLOOD GOD! Our numbers is legion, our name is death, and im not sure what the Black Templar say so.......WAAAAGH!

The best thing about sixth addition will be......

Ever since reading the Forge World book The Doom of Mymeara, I've wanted to do a 2x2 for gamesday representing both the Spacewolves and Cadian armies that defended the planet.  I hope the new allies rules in sixth edition will pave the way for this.
I've had a few Cadian models sitting around for a while now and am tempted to make a run at converting them to resemble those on Mymeara.
And of course I already have my spacewolves...I wonder if anyone else will try to capitalize on this new rule in time for gamesday?

Rumors about 6th Edittion

I have been reading some rumors and 6th edition leeks and it sounds like 6th edition is going to be awesome. Since what I have read are just leeks please do not take them to be the actual rules we won't know that until 6th edition comes out.

It looks like vehicles are going to be moving a min of 12in and not 6in. This makes since because I am pretty sure a Land Raider moves faster than regular infantry at normal speed. Vehicles are also going to have something similar to a wound value called Haul Points (HP) basically whenever a tank is glanced or penetrated the vehicle loses a HP. When all the HP is gone the vehicle blows up. This is not replacing the damage table. every time you pin or glance you still have to roll for the damage table as normal. HP just decrease the times your vehicle can get shot at. Which makes them weeker not stronger. There has been changes to the damage table 1 and 2 is shaken, 3 is stunned, 4 is weapon destroyed, 5 is immobilized, 6 is explodes.

Shooting
Now rapid fire weapons can be fired their full range when they move, and can fire two shots at half their normal range. Which is good news to Dark eldar and Necron players!

Heavy weapons can be fired  while moving but at BS1

The distance a unit can assault is 2D6

Monstrous creatures that can fly can choose to fly above the battle field and swoop down and attack other units without assaulting or getting assaulted. This stays in play until they get shot down when the creature is shot down it takes a S9 Hit from hitting the ground.

Close combat weapons now have AP Which means power weapons might be a thing of the past. This is gonna make space marine terminators harder to kill.

Also i think there is now a way you can do multiple close combats in one assualt phase not completely sure though. This is most of what I have heard so far. I only posted stuff that i felt like came from reliable sources

Sixth Edition available for advance order

Yes, I am excited... I cannot wait to get my hands on this new rulebook! Hm, lucky for me (technically) my girlfriend will be gone next week so I don't have to worry about upsetting her when my mind is soaked with warhammer....

With that being said... I think Davich and I are gonna try to do a battle report tomorrow... Maybe to have some fun I'll play Dragon's Tyranids :D

Gather up the Snotlings boys!

I have almost completed my Big Mek HQ for Zone Mortalis. Since I am borrowing Mrs Stormtrooper's orks, I have to keep with her purple theme. I have two units that still need to be completed so they are probably only getting a table ready paint job. I can't wait to wreck havoc with the shock attack gun, as ZM rules minimize the large blast templates scatter and allows rerolls for fail to wound.

Necron C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer

One of my coolest and best models the C'tan Shard of the Nightbringer. This guy has killed 2 Dreadnights and sent the 3rd one running for an epic win. I won't lie though I have used him wrong before and got owned, but a very useful model because he makes all difficult terrain dangerous and all dangerous terrain test failed on a 2 and 1. Makes him the ideal piece for Cities of Death and Zone Mortalis.
I didn't like the little blade that he came with and it was always falling off anyways so Drak gave me a tyrnaid arm to use.

Necron: Vargard Obyron

Vargard Obyron is my Favorite Overlord because he has the highest WS of all Necrons and he turns all enemy missed hits in close combat into attacks for him to use that close combat phase. This makes him a good Tyrinad and Ork mulcher because of how many attacks they get and miss because of a low weapon skill. Also he looks freakin awesome because he is like come and get it puny living creatures death has come.

Assualt Black Templar Terminators and Chaplin

Here is my Favorite Space Marine model for my Black Templars the Chaplin. He is my favorite because he kicks butt and he does it in style by looking so awesome. If you play Black Templars I think every army should have a Chaplin because he is the only model that can give people holy relics which gives all Black Templar models within 2D6 an extra attack in their next assault phase that turn. Also He automatically passes all Righteous Zeal Test that means you can never run away from being shot at. With Igloo's help I was able to paint my second Terminator unit and they look way better than the other ones.

These Black Templar Assault Terminators are awesome because they have furious charge and 3 attacks because of the Lighting Claws (4 on the charge or close enough to a Relic if the unit has both 5 attacks) Because of the vow Accept Any Challenge No Matter the Odds they get to re-roll all failed to hits and because of Lighting Claws they get to re-roll all failed to wound as well. If used correctly these terminators can even kill Grey Knight Paladins or a mess of Tyrinads within one assault phase.
