Warhammer magic vs new warhammer 40k psychics

Well, I've been doing some looking around, and I've found a lot of mixed feelings about the new 40k psychic stuff. Some people are ecstatic about the change to be more like fantasy, whereas others say the magic is the reason they didn't do fantasy, and instead did 40k in the first place. I fall under the first group. Being a fantasy high elf player, I love magic, and I love winning... Mostly magic though. So when I heard my tyranids were gonna be getting something close to my high elf's magic, I leapt for joy. Seeing as there are quite a few different psykers I can take (some even as troops) I expect to be dealing a good bit of punishment during the psychic phase, or if it's just part of the shooting, the shooting phase. One thing I am unsure about though. Do you get all powers in the discipline, or do you roll for them? Answer me in the comments guys. Remember, everyone here at Warhammer, Life, and Soda loves you!

Mass Effect 3

So anyone that this means something to knows that it came out today. Now I am not the one who owns the console or the game, Stormtrooper does, but I can't wait to play it! As you can probably guess, you might not hear from me in awhile ha ha. ME1 and ME2 were amazing, and I don't think I'll be disappointed with three.

Well, on the Warhammer side... Dragonauthor, Stormtrooper and I played a combined 4500 game. Stormtrooper using his Angels Sanguine and Dragon and I using a combination of Tyranids, Space Marines, and some Tau. Dragon and I won by the way. It was a crazy game and just for fun so I didn't make a battle report out of it, I guess I do need to make another one of those... Hm... Well maybe after I play Mass Effect 3 some.

Signing out,
Igloo

P.S. Tau Shas'o battlesuit commander is boss. I ran it with a plasma rifle, missile pod, shield generator, hard-wired multi-tracker and Iridium armor. The thing survived a round or two of devastator fire! That shield generator is a good investment for your commander!

Deathmarks take potshots at zoanthropes, doing nothing
Genestealers make morale test
Assault:
Scarabs assault Zoanthropes, zoanthropes do nothing, scarabs kill one zoanthrope >:D

Tyranids turn 3

Devourer temrgants flank on right side
Gargoyles deep strike on left side of board
Genestealers move up and run six inches

More warriors shoot at termagants killing one model
Doomsday shoots at termagants killing eight
Nightbringer throws boulder at hive tyrant brood missing, and shoots lightning bolt taking out one hive guard, pyre shards take out other hive guard. (I'm not exactly sure, looking back, that he could do all that.)
Assault:
Broodlord does nothing, Overlord does nothing, genestealers deal one wound to Overlord, Lychguard deal a wound to Broodlord one getting killed from acid blood.

Tyranids turn 5
Movement:
Termagants, hive tyrant, and zoanthrope move up
Shooting:
Termagants shoot at warriors killing a unit of five warriors
Zoanthrope shoots at doomsday and completely whiffs it by rolling a one of penetrating. >:D
Brood hypnotic gazes overlord. And absolutely nothing happens in pursuing assault turn.

Game ends as of a one being rolled.

Kill Points

Tyranids: 2
Necrons: 4

In hindsight, tyranids made two huge gambles on flanking, both ending up on the wrong side of the board that he wanted. Also, his mawloc did not work out as he would have liked, because he used his Lictor wrong (Learn actual rules Drak >.>). On the necrons side however, it was almost perfect. They dug in a weathered the storm. Only could have done better by using nightbringer more.

Also, they did come back at an awesome lunch of pizza and tyranids eventually won killing everything, so the necrons were lucky for the game to end on turn five.

Sorry about everything that is hard to comprehend and keep up. I did have pictures, but they weren't good so I'm gonna work on that. Oh, and I'll work on battle report layouts as well.

Well.... Igloo, signing out.

Our 40k armies

Well I thought I might as well put what my friends and I have army wise.

Myself: a roughly 2000 pt space marine and starting a tau.

Drak/Dragonauthor : roughly 2000 pts of tyranids

Stormtrooper1980 : assortment of blood angels and space wolves half of them not built yet.

Davich: 1500 pts of Necrons

Sagisu: Has grey knights and is thinking about starting dark Eldar.

We normally don't get together to play that often, but I'm gonna try to get some battle reports up. Maybe some close ups of their models if they let me. :)
